G-Wing Elevator at Trafalgar is Out of Service
June 13, 2016
The G-Wing Elevator is currently out of service due to a leak with the hydraulic cylinder. This cylinder raises and lowers the elevator cab and is 60 ft long and buried in the ground directly below the elevator pit. There is no easy way to fix this cylinder. An elevator contractor has been hired to replace it and the cylinder is currently on order but takes approximately eight weeks to manufacture. We are working with elevator contractor to confirm a firm delivery date. Starting in early July, construction work will begin for the removal of the old cylinder and work to install the new one will be start immediately afterwards. We are making all efforts to expedite this project and are pushing to get the G-Wing elevator operational as soon as possible. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience.
